Delaware County Animal Control
Delaware County Animal Control has been serving local homes and businesses since 1976. What began as a small extermination service led by founder Rahn Monrea’L has grown into a dedicated wildlife control and animal control team focused on public safety and respect for animals.
From the beginning, the company has worked under the belief that animals should be treated with care, even when they are in the wrong place. Our guiding message, “We Speak for Those Who Have No Voice,” demonstrates how our officers handle wildlife, explain options to property owners, and choose humane wildlife removal methods whenever possible.
Today, the company operates with a structured command staff, 9 full-time officers, and 12 part-time team members covering Delaware County, Philadelphia. Our business is fully licensed and insured, and licensed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. All of our officers are certified in animal control, and technicians are trained in animal husbandry and habitat care, meaning every call is handled by people with daily wildlife experience.

When you call Delaware County Animal Control, the goal is to make a stressful situation easier to manage. Our team follows a clear process so you know what to expect from the first phone call until your home is secure again, whether you require general wildlife removal or urgent assistance.
1. Call or Request Service
If you have an urgent problem, call (610) 522-1113 any time day or night. A dispatcher takes your information, asks a few safety questions, and sends the nearest available officer. For non-emergencies, you can also use the contact form and request a visit during normal hours.
2. Inspect and Identify the Problem
When an officer arrives, they listen to what you have seen or heard and perform a visual inspection of key areas. This may include the attic, basement, garage, crawl spaces, and yard. The goal is to confirm which animal is present, locate entry points, and measure how much damage has already been done. The officer explains the findings in plain language and outlines the next steps.
3. Humane Trapping and Removal
Once the situation is clear, the officer selects humane methods that fit the animal and location. This may include setting traps, removing animals by hand when safe, or guiding wildlife out through openings that can then be sealed. Young animals, such as baby raccoons or litters in an attic, are handled with care along with the adults. Domestic dogs are not trapped. Throughout this process, the focus remains on maintaining safety for people, pets, and the animals being removed.
4. Repairs, Clean Up, and Preventing Future Problems
After the animals are gone, technicians can address damage and help protect your home from another invasion. No. Delaware County Animal Control is a private company you pay. We remove wildlife. We do not run a shelter and we no longer pick up stray dogs or cats.
Do you answer 24 hours a day?
Yes. The phone is answered 24 hours a day. When we can arrive depends on the animal, the address, how busy we are and how urgent the situation is.
Can you repair the way the animal got in?
Yes. We close and repair most of the openings animals use. What it takes depends on the opening, so we tell you once we have seen it.
What animals do you handle?
Raccoons, squirrels, bats, groundhogs, skunks, opossums, foxes, snakes, rats and mice, birds in vents and chimneys, and wasp and hornet nests. We do not handle live dogs, cats or deer.
